Family Reunion

This past weekend we drove out to Arizona for a small family reunion in Phoenix. Jason's dad, Gene, and his wife Karen flew in from Pennsylvania. Jason and I drove with Jessica and Grandma. WOW what a weekend...it is already Thursday and I am still exhausted.

Well this is how the weekend went...
Friday - we left the house about 9:30pm...just a little late from 7pm! We finally got on the freeway about 10pm after stopping for food and gas. The drive was about 5 hours. We stopped at state line for a rest and potty break then I took over driving from there. We finally got to Deanna's place at about 3:30am. We were exhausted and went right to sleep...after Jason farted on his Dad!
Saturday - we went swimming at Uncle Bill's place and BBQed. It was a miserably hot day at about 117 degrees and at night it never dropped below 100! So the pool totally helped cool us all down. We left pretty late and all headed back to Deanna's.
Sunday - Lazy day! We stayed inside for most of the day with the heat we were just not willing to do anything. In the afternoon we decided to pack up and get a hotel. Staying in a 2 bedroom with one bathroom and 11 people was just not happening! Motel 6 was just down the road and it was not too bad. Jason, Jessica and I made a trip to the local K-Mart to cool off and get some snacks. We went back to the hotel and watched The Ant Bully...it was a pretty good movie...I liked it...oh and so did Jessica. Finally dinner time! We all (and when I say all I mean Gene, Karen, Deanna, Joey, Melissa, Carly, Cassey, Baby Joey, Uncle Bill, Joey's mom, Jason, Jessica, Grandma and I) went to the Old County Buffet (kind of like Hometown Buffet but more food). What an experience...we were so loud it drove me crazy! It was tons of fun though.
Monday - Jason was meeting with the Owner and VP of Bear Brakes so we all pack up and went back over to Deanna's place. Jason took his dad with him for a tour of the plant and lunch. Deanna, Joey and Grandma left for Wallmart so that left Karen and me with all the kids! Oh Carly was at day camp. Finally Jason and his dad got back at about 3pm and took all the kids to the pool. Around 7pm it was time to pack up and head for the road back home. Another 5 hour drive...luckly Jason drove and let me sleep beacuse I had to go to work the next day!
All in all it was a good trip...great for Jason to see his Dad again. Too bad we didn' make it to the Grand Canyon or Tombstone though...oh well there is always next time.

Father's Day 2008

As I am sure all of you know this past Sunday was Father's Day. It was an extremly busy day for the Cenora Family. We had a car show to attend...not only as a participant but as a vendor. This was our first show as 281 Motorsports. The Cruisn' Brea Show was actually on Birch Street off of Brea Blvd. It was a great day but boy was it hot. We were lucky enough to have a large Eazy-Up canopy to cover us. Jessica had a blast as the official buisness card hander-outer! She did an amazing job at it. At 3pm they announced the winners of all 71 classes. Jessica was so excited that the Shelby took first place she went up with Jason to accept the plaque. She even posed with it for a few photos. At the end of the show we cleaned up and headed out for an early dinner at Fudruckers then back home to relax and open the gifts. All in all it was a great day. Here are some photos...

This is a view of our show set up. Inside is a customer's car he runs a difensive teen driving school in Orange County.

That is all for now...in a few hours we will be driving to Arizona to visit Jason's sister and her family and his dad is flying in from Pensylvania! Another busy weekend ahead!

Hello!

I am starting a Blog...

For those of you who do not know what a blog is here is the Wikipedia definition...

"A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order."

What I am going to try and do is keep all my friends and family updated on all the Cenora Family happenings. Jason and I have just been so busy lately that we haven't had the time for the occasional visit or even chat on the phone. Just recently I have been becoming more knowledgeable of blogging and even have a few that I check regularly (mostly having to do with weddings...I am so obsessed). I thought that this would be a great way to let everyone know what we have going on in our lives and even post photos too! I know that with most of my family we don't get to see each other as often as we would like so this would be a peek into our lives.

Jason and I usually have something going on weekly so I should (given I have the time) post at least once a week...that is my goal anyway!

There will also be an option for comments if you want to send a message to us. And maybe, eventually, with my growing knowledge of how this all works we can create a blog that the whole family can be a part of and have their own posts...

I can't wait to get started...
